After seven years of client services working as Tint I am taking a break. Or more correctly; I am accepting a job! When SOL - Scandinavia Online came to me and wanted me to be their CIO, I just had to say yes. What a cool job!!!
I had to admit when they called that I had not been using their services much lately. Even more exciting it will be to be working for a brand that I remember as one of the biggest in Norway back in the days, and try and help develop new and exciting solutions and services that will bring them back.
So keep an eye out. This is gonna be great!
Wish me luck!
I have a new hero. His name is William McDonough and he is an architect and designer. He thinks like I wish all people did - because we all do and create things that impact others. He always starts designing by asking how our buildings and products can take into account “all children, all species, for all time.”
He is maybe the formost spokesperson for absolute sustainability, and in this video he explains his philosophy of “cradle to cradle” design, which bridge the needs of ecology and economics. He also shares some of his most inspiring work, including the world’s largest green roof (at the Ford plant in Dearborn, Michigan), and the entire sustainable cities he’s designing in China.
We happened to be in the US when the iPhone launched! Well. We won’t be able to get one for months, and trying it out really made us wanting it even more… Here - take a look at our first test of it.
We talked about it while leaving the store - how incredible it is to match the enormous expectations that has been set for this phone!? No other technical device that I know of has ever gotten this kind of attention. They had ten minute COUNT DOWN until the shops opened on the TV news channel we saw, with different reporters covering it from all over the country! That was just the channel that happened to be watching. Ten minutes of pure editorial advertisement! Fantastic. How does he do it?
And then it arrives - and just lives up to it all.
Ahhh. It is soo sexy. It is soo beautiful. The motions, the navigation, the applications - I am in awe. Me want one. Me want one so bad…
A quality indicator is defined as an agreed-upon process or outcome measure that is used to determine the level of quality achieved. Rikshospitalet Radiumhospitalet HF has got quality of their services as a main focus, and this data is meant to be used both by management and by the health professionals to improve their results, in addition to being a tool for the patients in their free choice of hospitals.
The site will contain proper information about the result of this hospitals diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients. In this first launch the focus has been on cancer, but we will go onto covering the rest of the hospital as soon as possible.
We have been working on this project for a looong time now, preparing the organization, making sure the quality registry was in place for the different areas of focus, making the technology able to do what we wanted… Well - it has been a lot of work. But we think it is an important step in giving the patients information to base a real choice of hospital on.
I have worked on making one of my obsessions into something more lately.
Sushi or Death is the result of that. It is a review site for restaurants serving sushi.
So - if you are into sushi, please go and vote and comment on the places that are among your favourites, and if you can’t find it - review it and send it to me yourself!
To just take a chance when it is offered to you is sometimes hard, but very rewarding. My old Razorfish colleague, Christian Bendlin, persuaded me to jump out of an airplane while visiting Berlin. Why not?
The website I helped Cobra with for Schibsted a while back got a Diploma at this years annual Visuelt competition for interactive screen based design - large corporations. Well, I only did the IA, the designers are the ones getting the real praise - but I am with this attempting a little bit claim to fame… :)

Doktoronline.no had a complete redesign a little while back. Well, here Tint did not do much more than a little bit of IA and help putting a team together.
I hope Doctor Eirik is happy with his new look. Here we worked together with designer Meld, front end developer Felt and back end developer SparkIT.
