A hero - William McDonough!
I have a new hero. His name is William McDonough and he is an architect and designer. He thinks like I wish all people did - because we all do and create things that impact others. He always starts designing by asking how our buildings and products can take into account “all children, all species, for all time.”
He is maybe the formost spokesperson for absolute sustainability, and in this video he explains his philosophy of “cradle to cradle” design, which bridge the needs of ecology and economics. He also shares some of his most inspiring work, including the world’s largest green roof (at the Ford plant in Dearborn, Michigan), and the entire sustainable cities he’s designing in China.

I find it very interesting pondering about what our future will look like. Recently I have realized that for me I think it will be very different from what I thought before, and definately different from what we all do and have right now. I think it is important to choose to be one of the ones that will be deciding our future. We are laying the groundwork for what will be and people with good intentions need to be in on it.
